Pope John Paul: Santo Subito Or Not So Fast?

Pope John Paul: Santo Subito Or Not So Fast?

Rome may target about a million people for Pope John Paul II’s beatification on Sunday. At least over that number came when he died six year ago, many of them clamoring “Santo Subito!” or make him a saint immediately.

Thousands of Christians were set to start celebrations across the Holy Land Saturday evening before beatification.
While people of various persuasions on the Catholic spectrum – mostly left, but a few right and center — may be opposed to an official declaration of “Blessed” John Paul, no one should be surprised at the speed.
The beatification of the Venerable Servant of God John Paul II fills us all with emotion', says a letter signed by all Christian representatives in the Holy Land as well as the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Fouad Twal, and Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Custos of the Holy Land.
Do you think Pope John Paul has to be proclaim a Santo Subito?
